I’m not quite sure how to describe Mike and Julie’s wedding because it was just that indescribably wonderful. We laughed, I cried. We grinned til our jaws ached. Mike and Julie got married at the Scarritt Bennett Labyrinth, a special, pivotal place in their dating relationship, amidst their closest friends and family. Not only were Mike and Julie all smiles all day, but everyone else was too. We ended the night with a jam-packed reception at Cabana Restaurant, where I think me and Stevie ate the best reception meal we’ve ever had. #moresweetpotatobiscuitsplease
What I love about weddings is the challenge and simultaneously the joy of capturing feelings. You can’t force or manufacture it. Prompts or poses can’t create it. It’s only present when the people you’re photographing are vulnerable and trusting enough to express themselves in front of you. You have to simply be ready for it to happen and smile when you get to witness love visibly radiating off of two people. Mike and Julie’s wedding day reminded me of why I love shooting weddings so much, and what an honor it is to capture love.
