2015 – what a year it has been! A year of growth and celebration, a year filled with lots of excitement, and with moments that I’ll always remember. A year of both hard work and relaxation, at different times. A year that has quite literally changed my life, for the better. & with it coming to a close, I thought I’d take this opportunity to reflect on and be grateful for some of my favorite moments from the past 12 months.

In no particular order… 🙂

1) Getting engaged to my best friend.

Our full length proposal story is actually a pretty complicated saga – Stevie was delayed for several weeks thanks to different “challenges” (ring shipping delay, broke his wrist, etc etc). But when he finally was able to it was perfect, and though at the time the road bumps were frustrating for him, now we look back it on as a very special and out of the ordinary journey for us. (Much like our whole relationship!) He proposed at “The Carving Tree” at our cabin, where we had carved our names 4 years prior.

2) Q.T. with the families.

I soooo appreciate the quality time we get to spend with our families. Besides the usual free weekend or holiday times together, this year also involved wedding planning, trips, baptisms (hey we’re godparents now yay!), dance recitals and more – much time was spent with our silly, awesome, ridiculous families and for that we are so thankful.

3) Working with incredible people.

Between planning our wedding in 4 months and full time design jobs, we took a lighter load of photography work this year. Although it was certainly hard to say no to some amazing couples, I am so grateful that I actually have the flexibility to be able to only shoot the weddings I can give my undivided efforts to and put 100% heart into. Shooting a limited number of weddings, so that each get the care and attention they so fully deserve, is something I will continue to do in 2016, but this year I’ll have much more time and energy to give! (Being married and boring is awesome). The clients I was able to work with this year were an absolute joy and seriously the best. I don’t know how I end up with such pleasant people but I do! Bridezillas stay away!

4) Getting Hitched!

Of course I have to put this on the list! I married the most amazing, sweetest, most loving (all the good adjectives ever) person. And I truly feel privileged. I know marriage is work and no one is perfect, but I think if you marry your best friend you’ve made it way easier on yourselves. We actually, not just love, but like each other and spend every spare moment together, by choice. God blessed me with one heck of a hubbie this year and I plan to soak it up for all the years we have left on this planet together. Definitely excited to see what’s to come for us Boudreauxs in 2016.

Some favorite photos from our wedding day, taken by Love Is A Big Deal

“Every day God invites us on the same kind of adventure. It’s not a trip where He sends us a rigid itinerary, He simply invites us. God asks what it is He’s made us to love, what it is that captures our attention, what feeds that deep indescribable need of our souls to experience the richness of the world He made. And then, leaning over us, He whispers, “Let’s go do that together.”  ― Bob Goff

Here’s to a 2016 full of adventure and love.
