who we are

This fall Stevie and I traveled out to California for the Adobe Max conference. We hopped off the plane the day before the conference started and drove straight to Malibu. We have always heard how beautiful it was and could not miss our only few-hours-free window to check it out.

I wish we could have spent a whole day there! I don’t think I could ever get tired of these views. We still had our airplane clothes on from traveling and were not expecting to take a little hike up on Point Dume. But I’m glad we did. We knew there was a spot that jutted out into the ocean like this, but we didn’t know where it was or how to find it. So it was a very happy discovery we made as we were joy riding!

The city of Los Angeles is quite overwhelming. There’s so much to do and no way to see it all in a few short days. We hit the top spots people recommended. And really just driving around taking it all in was fun too. Santa Monica Pier was beautiful, and the weather was amazing. We ate at a Mexican restaurant on the pier and of course got ice cream.

We drove up to the Hollywood Sign, which was fun to see such an iconic sight in person. Then Google Maps took us the longggg way from the sign to Griffith Observatory. We drove down the windiest, narrowest streets as we checked out some of the luxurious hilltop houses that I imagine celebrities live in.

Griffith Observatory was insane, and the photos don’t do the views any sort of justice. We watched sunset from their balcony and then went on to our anniversary dinner.

I’m so glad I finally got to visit California! Even though it was a quick trip, we packed in a lot of fun stuff. And the conference events I got to go to with Stevie were a blast too! We were both ready to get back to our kitty cats and Tennessee, but I’m looking forward to visiting the Golden State again soon.

XO,

Sara-Lane
